Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a natural anti-cause. I usually mix 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder in a glass water, but it is not important how much baking soda I use. It doesn’t affect the speed at which it works. Before I drink it, I always stir it in until it is clear.

    Baking Soda

Sodium Bicarbonate can temporarily relieve acid reflux symptoms and neutralize stomach acid. It works 100% of time for me. I often stay up until the gasses have stopped. However, there are some drawbacks to this. Baking soda releases carbon dioxide into the water and fizzes slightly. This fizz can help open the lower esophageal, or LES (lower esophageal, sphincter) to allow you to burp and relieve the pressure from bloating.

However, opening the LES can cause stomach contents to reflux into your esophagus. This is why I wait until it stops fizzing. Although many people have tried baking soda to relieve their heartburn, there have not been any clinical trials that support its effectiveness. It is also possible that it could raise your blood pressure. It may also increase plaque buildup.

    Good to Know

Drinking acidic substances can help to dissolve plaque, according to my dentist. Vinegar (Apple Cider Vinegar is the best), and cola-based drinks are some examples. Baking soda is a type of base. If acid can reduce it, a base could increase it. I don’t have any proof that I have more plaque than I used. Other possible problems include symptoms of diabetes, hypocalcaemia and pancreatitis, as well as other serious conditions.

These problems can be quickly eliminated if you stop using baking soda for heartburn. You should consult your doctor if you suffer from chronic acid reflux. There could be serious underlying causes.

There are many safe and effective natural remedies that can be used to treat acid reflux if it is caused by the food or drink you are drinking. You could eat and drink whatever you want, but that doesn’t appeal for me. These are safe ways to treat heartburn. Keep 10-15 in your mouth. Don’t chew on or swallow them until the pain has subsided.

    Conclusion

While there may be more, this is a good starting point. My research shows that many of these natural remedies can only be used on an occasional basis. Talk to your doctor if you feel that you are using one or more of these acid reflux remedies on a regular basis. You may have GERD, also known as GORD in some countries. This is also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, or Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease. You can get checked by your doctor to see if they recommend an over-the-counter medication.
